Who We Are:

HomeCheckers.ca Ltd., established in 1996, introduces a new home security checking and pet care program that is designed for residents of Ottawa. Operated by retired RCMP members, we have an extensive background in property security and are bonded, insured and registered for your protection. All security visits are made by HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. professionals and we do not contract work out.

Doug

DISTRICT MANAGER - OTTAWA CENTER/ WEST

(OWNER / GENERAL MANAGER)

Doug MacDONALD, Owner / General Manager of HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. Doug retired from the federal public service in June of 1997, following a career of over thirty years with the RCMP and CSIS, and has an extensive background in security.

DISTRICT: Following an absence of 5 years, Doug is once again into active home-checking. His area is from Bronson Av / Airport Pkwy west to Greenbank / Pinecrest Rds and Ottawa River south to Hunt Club West.

Doug will be backed-up by Derek Dillabough and Riley MacDonald whose districts overlap slightly.

Don

DISTRICT MANAGER - SEMI-RETIRED

Don KELLY joined HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. in February 2006 Don retired from Canadian Armed Forces following a career of over 30 years. Don's service in the CAF included Military Police and Security. Don is bilingual and is a resident of Blackburn Hamlet.

Paul

DISTRICT MANAGER - OTTAWA EAST / ORLEANS

Paul Vanbruinessen joined HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. in September 2021. Paul has extensive background experience in the retail industry acting in both Manager and Assistant Manager roles. Paul has a security clearance as a result of community work and lives in Blackburn Hamlet.

OTTAWA EAST / ORLEANS: Orleans and Cumberland. Rothwell Heights, Beacon Hill Rockcliffe Park, New Edinburgh,Vanier, Lower Town / Byward Market, Alta Vista and Findlay Creek.

Paul will work with Don Kelly, who will be his back-up

Riley

DISTRICT MANAGER - OTTAWA WEST / KANATA

Riley MacDONALD joined HomeCheckers .ca Ltd. in October 2008. Prior to this, Riley assisted HomeCheckers.ca Ltd. in an administrative role, and is knowledgeable of the responsibilities and functions required of a competent HomeChecker. Riley is bilingual and lives in the Bridlewood area of Kanata.

DISTRICT: Riley is responsible for Kanata, Bells Corners, Stittsville and Bridlewood.
